A Phone Call
Finally yesterday, another unknown number came in, my intuition said it was a friendly call so I answer it. Yes, it was a friendly call... It took them exactly 2 months to make decision and they told me that I'm one of their "short-listed candidates" :)

There are times when we feel like we are just a "nobody" to people around us (co-workers, bosses, friends, etc) ...undeniably, that certainly ruins our "will" to live the life...
but the truth is, those people are only a small part of our lives... there are several million other people out there in the world. Everyone is special in our own way. Don't feel bad if "some" people don't appreciate us. Being ourselves and do our best. There sure are people who see it!!
When you encounter difficulties and contradictions,
do not try to break them, but bend them with gentleness and time."

the Devil Wears Prada
First, it seems to justify that doing whatever it takes to serve the boss is the right thing..."Million girls would kill for this job!"

Shi Mi Zu shabu shabu

Friday again, FP&A shall hang out together after a while. Last week I went home early to help mom prepare for Tam boon baan and the Friday before I went to celebrate 1st day at new work with Yod and Kao+.
This time it's Karn's Birthday (Sep14) and the day I announced my departure. We went to have casual dinner at ShimiZu Shabu Shabu in RAMAIII. It's by Soi 52 near Ho Kitchen.
There were 8 of us -- Karn, Namphon, Pookie, Ae+ FMP, Aey, Joy, Kiang and myself. BTW Ae+ is getting married. This was one of the hot topic during the dinner. Tarn, another FMP in FP&A Auto team, also getting married!! We single FP&A girls became very interested to join the FMP program now:)
We were talking and laughing so loud...Ae+ just came back from her rotation in Japan.. been a while not seeing the twins: Ae+ and Namphon-- they acted and talked the same way. It's just double the fun :)
The shabu shabu was awesome! The marinated pork was the best. The shimizu meatball also tasty. BTW, ate and talked too much that I forgot to take any picture to share with you... hehehe
It was raining and stormy on the way home. Called Puen to confirm Sunday. Khun P Yod is out of town again this weekend. Wonder if we still recognize each other...hohoho ^.^

... on a different note, I'm back to Thailand exactly 3 years on this day. So many things (bad and good) happened to me during the past 3 years more than the 10 years before, it seems like. But I have no regret... The good ones were wonderful and the bad ones were experience ^^
..Back to Tam Boon Baan. I was assigned to be in charge of fruits - clean, cut and decorate.
I was having fun with making the cantaloup in small bite-size and put them back into its peel.
I did cut myself a lilte bit on the side of my palm... it's ok now though
Well...let see how it came out... tada
Those are Guava, Pineapple, Watermelon, Gold Kiwi fruit and Cantaloup.
Help mom tasting the food while working on the watermelon
@ our office
I wished good things and happiness for everyone.
..what I wished for myself?
Can't tell, otherwise it won't be true!!

What a small world!
"Jiib, I'm at my friend's wedding and I think I just saw N' Vee in the same wedding! maybe you can call ask him if he's in a wedding right now where the bride's name is YodKwan..." "well, Vee is a tall slim guy, right?"
"Yes, he is. Why don't you go talk to him. I'm sure he recognize you :)" I got excited with him
I'm sure they both recognize each other.
a few mins after, out of curiosity, I called Vee.
"Hey Vee, are you in a wedding... " I havn't finish my sentence.
"Hello P' Jib! I'm with P' Yod right now!!"
Turned out the bride was Yod's friend in AZ during Master degree. The bride's name is also Yod. They knew each other in a Thai restaurant in Phoenix. The bride then taking Ph.D. in Virginia where she met the groom.
Both the bride and the groom got to know Vee in Virginia. They are in "Power Gang" as Vee mentioned oftenly. One time I was at Vee's desk discussing work and the phone rang... Vee answer the phone saying hi to the other end of the line "Sawasdee Krab P' Yod" (I thought he was teasing me or something!!!) then he told me about his "power gang" of mainly Ph. D. students and himself as the youngest brother in the gang.
Yes it sure is a small world!!

What Alcoholic Drink Are You?
| You Are Sex On the Beach |
When comes to drinking, you like it to go down smooth. You really don't like the taste of alcohol - just its effect on you. So, you're proud to get drunk on fruity, girly drinks. Because once you're liquored up, the fun begins! |

It ain't over till it's over

Yes it's Monday
... I took off from office at 10:50PM!
getting numbers rolled up for tomorrow review meeting... and it's gonna be like this for a few weeks becuz they set the review meeting every other day!!!!
what a crazy schedule!
Kao+ called around 10:15pm for chatting... although nothing special in the conversation but I was feeling better to know someone think of me.
Interestingly enough that the one you wished they would call, they wouldn't.

You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.

The Break-Up
I went to see Jennifer Aniston's movie "The Break-Up" with my friend, Kiang. Kiang is a girl, btw. Just felt like chick-flick after a long time. Although I rather call it a grown-up romantic comedy as "Chick-flick" reminds me of Lindsay Lohan's movie instead...

I'm Jen's big fan since "Friends" and especially after her real life break-up with Brad, she score a whole bunch from me. So although the movie didn't get good critic's review, I'm watching it anyway.
Not the best movie I've seen but it was entertaining. It got me thinking if two people decided to be together they just had to maintain certain level of "respect" to each other's feelings. It's undeniable that once two people reach certain point in a relationship, they tend to get too comfortable being themselves... starting to be "selfish"
After all, ups and downs in relationship is normal. As long as they communicate and open, things should be fine. Personally, I can't wait for the very first fight between me and my special someone.... I take that first serious fight as a critical point where two people really get to know each other... and get to know what make up of the two of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The movie scene in Chicago.. my second home. The skyline of Chicago architecture by Lake Michigan is the best! I will definitely go visit there again.
On another note, I still don't get a chance to see "The Lake House" and "Cars" although those two movies are more interesting -- this is becuz the movie line-up in Thailand sucks! oops sorry for the language.. but it's true!!
Germany Won Portugal!!
Bastian Schweinsteiger scored two second-half goals for Germany claiming third place at the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ by beating Portugal 3-1 in Stuttgart on Saturday, 8 July 2006.Ballack didn't play this match due to knee injury. All other squads got to attend the Worlcup in this match (except HILDEBRAND Timo -- 3rd Goal Keeper). Everyone did a GREAT job - it was an awesome game. Really worth not sleeping to watch! :)
Germany finished the tournament with total 14 goals to their name - three more than any other team with just Sunday's Final to play.
Do talk her talk: Ashton - Demi
Heck, if a man like Ashton will pass up budding starlets for mother-of-three Demi, there must be certain upsides to a woman of experience It’s a huge allure for young men because here’s a sophisticated, attractive woman in control of her own life,” explains Valerie Gibson, author of Cougar: A Guide For Older Women Dating Younger Men.
“Often, she doesn’t want to get married and doesn’t want children. For a young man, she’s a sexy, exciting companion.”
Do talk her talk:
Above everything, an older woman would like to have a decent conversation. Questions like "What’s your major?” and “Did you see the new O.C.?” are suddenly moot. Ask her questions about her job, her hobbies, what type of music she likes.
Don’t play around:
"If a guy tries that three-day rule, I’m already thinking he’s too insecure to handle a relationship with me.” The solution’s simple: Just act like you feel, not how you think you should.
Do stay cool:
Don’t date an older woman if you can’t handle that attention. But if you’re deft, you’ll not only cope, you’ll impress your lady with your maturity and charm. That stodgy couple one table over insists on gawking? Turn, smile, and smoothly say, “I don’t blame you for staring. She’s beautiful, isn’t she?”
Don’t mention the numbers:
A line like, “It’s so great that we get along despite the generation gap,” sounds good in your head, but comes across as, “I’m glad we get along even though you’re so old.” Besides, it’s your personalities, not your birthday candles, that are compatible—and that’s where you should concentrate. So please, avoid asking questions like, “Did video games exist yet when you were a kid?”
Do act your age:
Fact is, if she wanted to date a man her age, she would, so don’t pressure yourself to act more sophisticated than you are. ...the reason that somebody is attracted to younger guys is that their minds are more open. They offer spontaneity and fun...
HoMe EarlY ^_*
Maybe I havn't been getting enough sleep for a month.. June is the craziest month... maybe the same or worse than February - short month but a lot to do..
People asked me what's the plan for today - Friday. I was gonna have casual dinner with Kao+ but then feeling really exhausted so I decided to go home early for a change.
Traffic was quite bad on the way back home... anyway, I managed to be home by 8pm-ish... probably the earliest I've ever been home from work... and it's been a year at work for me already.
No special thing planned except getting some rest... oh and to see Germany in Worldcup at 10pm :)
Took a shower.. update blog for the day... and I'm ready to go cheer Germany in front of TV!
Forgiving
"Remember, forgiving someone doesn't mean that
you condoned what they did.
It just means that you refuse to let it have any
power over you or what you do."
Healthy Selfishness
It's basically telling you to be honest to your own feeling and needs... and put your own needs first. Sounds like being a bad person...why is it good?
In reality, many people do put others' need first as they feel obligated to please other people... or feel guilty to ask for what they want. But"...failing to put our own needs first, we hope or assume others will give to us as we give to them. But they don't. And an unhealthy dynamic begins...
...Healthy selfishness opens the door to a life of freedom -- freedom from being ruled by the opinions and demands of others as well as freedom from the voices in your own mind..."
<taken from http://lifestyle.msn.com/MindBodyandSoul/PersonalGrowth/Articlelhj.aspx?cp-documentid=496530>
I couldn't agree more that I used to deny my own needs in order to please someone...
I would stretch way out of my comfort zone to do thing someone dare to ask. Back then, my motto was "if you dare to ask, I would dare to give" .......I'd been feeling just fine until the day that person "changed his mind"... I began to realize how I'd betrayed myself big time.
